Mental Health Education
Mental Health is an important aspect of everyone’s psychological, emotional and social well-being. DrugCo Health, with its high-touch customer service model of care, is concerned with patient’s overall psychosocial wellness. As such, we are pleased to offer two mental health educational programs.
Mental Health Awareness 101 is a course that offers basic information on mental health.
This mental health awareness educational program will provide participants with information on the basic tenets of mental health, the myths and stigmas associated with mental illness and how to identify and respond to a mental health crisis. This educational presentation is facilitated by Dr. Carletha Gates, VP of Patient Advocacy. She is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and a Human Services, Board Certified Practitioner.
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour certificate program that provides an extensive education in mental health, mental illness and substance misuse.
Mental Health First Aid is a national program that teaches individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance misuse. The 8 hour mental health first aid training program teaches the skills to provide initial support when someone may experience a mental health crisis. The training covers topics including: safety, depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar disorder and substance misuse. Each participant will be awarded a Mental Health First Aid Certificate at the completion of the course. This educational presentation is facilitated by Dr. Carletha Gates, VP of Patient Advocacy. She is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and a Human Services, Board Certified Practitioner.
